Dyed my hair at home, and it came out too bright!?

I wanted to dye my hair a dark purple, so I went to Sally and bought one that / looked perfect /. On the small swatch of hair, it was exactly what I wanted, the lady there said that it would also be a little darker, because my hair is dark blond.

Make sure you get a level 4 naturally brown and put it over the top, I can as sure as I can see, but it should by the sounds of things it work just right for you.
